If you weren't convinced before...

Then read this little gem I stumbled upon:

Tree House

A tree house, a free house,
a secret you and me house,
A high up in the leafy branches
cozy as can be house.

A street house, a neat house,
Be sure and wipe your feet house
is not my kind of house at all--
Let's go live in a tree house.

Shel Silverstein

The End.

Dwelling.

Lately, I've been dwelling on thoughts of dwelling in a tree.

Could you blame me though? Look at these! I'm truly inspired. And I think Will is totally game.

Same house in the winter... (Yes, this house is in New England. It's possible.)

Below is the home of a Lenovo Executive...

A more modern take.

This one looks like it's from a children's book:

Solar home!

I died a little with this last one... look at that breakfast nook! Although my brother would constantly have to watch his head, I adore the beams.

And here's an excerpt about this style of home:

"The effect of building and using a house made completely of tree is truly astonishing. By simply using the shape of tree in its natural way rather than cutting and shaping them into lumber wood, the architecture you obtain will be organic and gives you a feeling like you actually live in a tree which is breathing and which is still growing its structure. Though this type is relatively difficult to construct, with the trunk and the branches to be fit suitably with the rest, but it sure is the best to live in.

Aside from the breath-taking eco-aesthetic of his whole-tree houses and homes, apart from Roald Gunderson’s breath taking eco aesthetic style of his custom built whole tree homes and houses, he also says that it has a number of advantages and benefits which help towards protecting the environment as well as a the owner’s money. According to his observation, this architectural style saves time, energy as well as money since in this style we will be skipping the normal yet unnecessary steps of remaking the raw wood available in nature into the standard structures and sizes.

Also, in this style of building houses, less carbon will be released into the atmosphere. It is also a fact that the naturally curved branches of the tree are found to be stronger than their processes and industrially structured straight and narrow counterparts that are used in other housing styles." Eco-Aesthetic Style Home

Okay I'll stop. But hey, it could happen. And if it does, we'll invite you over for tea just to prove it.
Do any of these particularly appeal to you or your style? Or maybe your style means you're on the ground. Understandable.

Tea with Daddy

I just can't help but share my love for this little lady, my niece who turned three last week.

Make note: At least 4 bracelets, I think I can see 3 headbands, and possibly a mermaid costume or some sort of tutu.

This doll is quite the character with tons of style and attitude. Happy 3rd birthday Peyton!
